From there, we will head to the Police check point at Melli for permission and registration, and Inner Line Permit for non-Indian nationals. Once this is done we head out for Yuksom, a 150 kilometer drive which takes an average of 8-10 hours, depending on traffic. Along the way, we stop at Jorthang for some delicious lunch and a few candid shots. We arrive at Yuksom by the evening, at which point, we check in for the night. Meal and overnight stay in guesthouse at Yuksom.

Along the way, we bear witness to magnificent mountain peaks, like Mount Pandim and Mount Tenzinkhay. After taking a break for lunch and rest, we continue on our journey. The path ahead remains steep and rocky, and continues till we reach Dzongri. Due to sharp gain in altitude, it is possible that some guests may feel uneasy, short of breath and may get headaches. This feeling goes away in time as you get acclimatized to the low oxygen content in the air. Guests must inform us in case your health gets worse. We are happy to provide oxygen cylinders and other medication at this point if needed. Meal and overnight stay in camps at Dzongri.
